Viet Nam's Cam Ou province asks government to include shrimp products in the "residue monitoring plan" as soon as possible

The People's Committee of Cam Ou Province of Viet Nam issued a proposal to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam to include shrimp products such as lobster in the residue monitoring program to ease the difficulties of local lobster processing and export enterprises.

Under new EU rules, all shrimp products exported to the EU market this year must be included in Viet Nam's residue monitoring programme. As shrimp products were not previously included in the Viet Nam residue monitoring program, products that had been contracted for export to the EU market could not be shipped, resulting in fines and compensation for the contract amount. While awaiting approval, Viet Nam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is contacting relevant EU agencies so that seafood processing enterprises can export shrimp products to the EU as soon as possible.
