Norwegian salmon exports rise sharply in 2023

       Norwegian salmon exports of 1.2 million tonnes in 2023, exports of NOK 122.5 billion, exports decreased by 2% year-on-year, exports increased by NOK 16.9 billion year-on-year, up 16%, Poland, France and the United States are the main export markets. Last year, Norwegian salmon exports to Poland 189,400 tonnes, an increase of 2 per cent year-on-year, exports of 2.9 billion Norwegian kroner, up 21 per cent, per kilogram of salmon slices export price of 148 Norwegian kroner, an increase of 31 Norwegian kroner than in 2022, the fresh whole fish export price of 93 Norwegian kroner per kilogram, an increase of 14 Norwegian kroner than in 2022.

       Norwegian trout exports in 2023 were 56,900 tonnes and NOK 5.5 billion, an increase of 4 per cent in volume and NOK 48.59 million, or 10 per cent, with the United States, Ukraine and Thailand being the main export markets. Last year, Norwegian trout exports to Ukraine amounted to NOK 284 million, an increase of 92 per cent year-on-year, with an export volume of 8,000 tonnes, an increase of 76 per cent year-on-year.
