Vietnam is promoting the export of agricultural products to China through railways, especially fresh fruits and seafood.
The first train loaded approximately 900 tons of goods, with 21 40 foot refrigerated containers filled with fresh fruits and seafood. The train passed through L ạ ng S ơ N provinces Đ ồ ng Đă NG Railway Station, heading to China. On this north-south route, the transportation cost of one container of dry goods round-trip is about 300000 to 350000 Vietnamese dong, while the one-way transportation cost of one container of fresh agricultural products is 350000 Vietnamese dong, and the transportation price during peak hours can reach 1 to 1.2 million Vietnamese dong. The railway transportation has rented standard refrigerated containers from China to ensure the quality of the goods, and can be deeply transported between China and third countries. After arriving at the Chinese border, it is then transported by road to various parts of China. Vietnam transports fresh fruits and seafood to China through this route, while China transports agricultural products such as fresh grapes and garlic to Vietnam. Fresh agricultural products transported by railway must meet strict export requirements from origin to packaging specifications.
