The export trade of Japanese seafood to China had already decreased before the import ban was imposed.

On August 24th, China's customs authorities announced a ban on the import of seafood products from Japan and intensified their supervision of Japanese food products. They will continue to monitor Japan's wastewater discharge and update policies accordingly.
In fact, even before this decision was made, Japanese seafood exports to China were already on the decline. According to customs statistics, in July of this year, Japanese seafood exports to China decreased by 29% compared to the same period last year, reaching approximately 235 million RMB. It's an undeniable fact that Chinese residents have expressed concerns about food safety, and these concerns are likely to escalate.
