Norway obtains 383 tons of bluefin tuna fishing quota

The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna Resources (ICCAT) approved Norway to obtain a bluefin tuna fishing quota of 383 tons in 2023, an increase of 68 tons year-on-year. This year, small coastal fishing vessels and purse seine fishing vessels can participate in fishing.

The quota shall not exceed 300 tons; The total quota for small coastal fishing vessels was 40 tons, an increase of 22 tons compared to 2022. This year, up to 25 small fishing vessels can participate, provided that the length of the fishing vessel is less than 15 meters and selective fishing gear is used.
