On February 23, it was reported that in January 2023, the export value of Vietnamese Salmon decreased significantly, with a year-on-year decrease of 61% and a month-on-month decrease of 44%. The export income was US $83.6 million, and exports to all major markets showed a double-digit decline, especially in the United States, with a year-on-year decrease of 81%.

In January, the export volume of Vietnamese Salmon to the United States decreased by 76% year-on-year, 44% month-on-month, the export income was 9.84 million US dollars, 40% month-on-month, and the average export price was 2.97 US dollars per kilogram, down 34% year-on-year, and flat month-on-month. The United States is the third largest export market of Vietnamese Salmon after China and the European Union. Although the inflation rate of seafood in the United States is lower than that of other foods, the price rise continues to affect the sales of Salmon.
